It was not just hitting the wall, have done that a few times It was heat stroke with a twist, I think.
I also have the four bottle belt and have used it a lot in training - love it for those long runs. However on the day of the race I just could not keep it on - I could not have the food in the belt and I was not able to drink all that much either, so decided to keep two bottles in my shorts, and got rid of the belt. Still... I think I will still use it for my upcoming IM if all goes well!Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05096749837021091807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4521489648818497533.post-59796478225694172882010-07-13T11:04:02.232+03:002010-07-13T11:04:02.232+03:00Great post, I discovered this blog after trying to...Great post, I discovered this blog after trying to locate some tri-camps here in Greece and found your website!
Must have been an endless day during the half Iron, but well done to face the threat of 'hitting the wall'... I recently purchased a 4 bottle fuel belt from fitsn. Is it better to fuel them up with gel or electrolyte type liquid? But for a 5 hours race under direct sunlight in 35+ degrees an athlete must require at least 6 liters of water?!! Keep up the good work.SV1QZShttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10465257402475358606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4521489648818497533.post-35013253119188554422010-06-21T13:06:01.207+03:002010-06-21T13:06:01.207+03:00Hmmm... Of course there is also a brand called SaltSticks as seen here:
http://www.fitsn.com/el-gr/Products.aspx?ElementID=69899b90-5af6-4a49-8d52-8ac88f339577

I was referring to the kind of salty sticks you buy from the supermarket...Alexhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05096749837021091807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4521489648818497533.post-62282787314473524362010-06-21T11:31:30.337+03:002010-06-21T11:31:30.337+03:00i loved this post Alexia! but what are saltsticks?...i loved this post Alexia! but what are saltsticks? xxNatasha Giannousi-Varneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08244980866743701102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4521489648818497533.post-85133370977287984922010-06-20T21:37:05.375+03:002010-06-20T21:37:05.375+03:00The Russian fridge did not wake up with a rusty mu...The Russian fridge did not wake up with a rusty murmur. It was more like a Russian miner was lying in the bed next to us trying to hack up bits of coal from his lungs.Duncanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10834766760448410690noreply@blogger.com
